“Judgment & Destruction”: The chapter opens with Jesus singling out a poor widow, who gave more to the Lord than anyone despite her poverty. Next, Jesus prophetically foresees the destruction of Jerusalem, which he pictures as judgment against this city that kills the prophets. But that localized destruction will pale in comparison to his own second coming when the whole world will be judged.
